It's fine, I'm not actually going to do anything. All I did was discourage him from sending more letters.

...It's probably not what you think, though. Samson wrote back that it'd make a great conversation piece, anyway. Real art made by a real Hero, or something, and then he drew three winking smiley faces and told me to do my best. And he hasn't written since.

So I think if you wanted to get those free drinks out of him, you still could, if drinking weren't something you should never do again.

I wouldn't get drunk off one or two drinks, sheesh. I know my limit now.

That's easy for you to say. You're not the one who'd have to carry your ass home and tuck you in if a drink is stronger than you anticipate.

[Vietnam took care of the latter last time, but since they live together now, that job would naturally fall to Robin.]

I have other people I could call. You wouldn't need to do much more than unlock the door, if it really came to that.

[She's not that inconsiderate.]

If I'm going to unlock the door anyway, I might as well just do the whole thing.

[Not involving a third person is the most efficient method, so it falls in line with how he does things. His tone is just a half-step away from defensive, though.]

Does that mean I should just crash at Gilgamesh's the next time I feel the urge to indulge, or that you'll groan and grouse but come along all the same?

[It doesn't really answer the question, but it's all she's getting from him. Of course he'd go with her, but if she'd rather stay with Gilgamesh, then he's not about to tell her she shouldn't.]

Seriously? Telling you to do what you want means there's some kind of problem?

I said 'bite'. Even if it might seem like it in the moment, you never lash out without a good reason.

Then I guess I didn't lash out after all, because I don't have a reason to.

We've talked about this. If it's a subject I shouldn't touch, tell me to back off. But please, don't lie to me.

I'm not lying. Nothing happened, so you can stop worrying.

[This is, in fact, not technically a lie.]

[She'll believe him, for now. But she haves a small sigh and leans her forehead against his shoulder.]

Sorry if It seemed like I jumped on you, just now. ...as it turns out, you were exactly right about the level of his interest in me, and I don't really... want to let anything slide. Especially now. If I give him an inch on any front, I'm pretty sure he'll take at least a hundred miles.

Of course he will. He's a king. That's all they do.

[There's no ill will in his words; to Robin, this is simply stating a fact.

It's also a good way of dancing around the rest of what Hakuno is saying, because he would really, really not like to talk about this. Even if his feelings weren't a mess, he'd like to avoid as many mental images as he can, just on principle.]

But... Even if it sounds silly, I've made my momentary allowances, and in some ways, I've probably spoiled him, but he's properly acknowledged me as a 'Master' now. So, even from him, I want to properly protect the things important to me. If he tries to bully you, or tell you to stay away from me, tell me.

I'm pretty sure I can handle myself.

[He doesn't really expect anything to come of it. Gilgamesh had been annoying and difficult to work with, but nothing he's done so far has had Robin concerned about himself. His attitude toward Hakuno had been a little unsettling, but she seems content with it, if the tattoo is any indication - and if she's fine with it, then Robin will just have to deal with that. What he finds debasing isn't the universal standard, after all, so as much as it weirds him out, it's not really his place to make any more smartass comments about it.]

I don't know him too well, but I don't think he regards me highly enough to "bully" in the first place, so you don't have to worry about that either.

[And that suits Robin just fine.]
